Heating and cooling constitute the largest portion of a typical home's energy bills, one way to make your home both more comfortable and save hundreds of dollars is to install an Energy Star qualified, programmable thermostat.

Tools you’ll need: Energy Star Qualified Programmable Thermostat, screw drivers (philips and flat head), needle nose

Switching an old, inefficient showerhead for a standard or ultra low-flow showerhead can save you thousands of gallons of water each year and is probably the fastest returning investment for your energy efficiency dollars

Tools you’ll need: channel lock pliers, cloth tape (to cover the teeth of the pliers), silicone tape, new showerhead
