Boeing 787 Dreamliner Lands at Boeing Field (Video)

E-mail Print

The Dreamliner has landed safely and successfully at Boeing field.  The plane is currently parked and going under a visual inspection for any damage that has occurred during the three hour flight.  After it is complete, a post flight press conference will happen here (click on "webcast" above the center square).

The 787 will be replacing the 767 line and has a whole host of new passenger focused features such as:

-a taller fuselage with less curvature along the wall for the window seat passengers.

-larger windows for better viewing without having to stoop or crane one's neck.

-more air cleaning equipment for better indoor air quality.

Besides the above mentioned passenger benefits,

Here are some of the environmental reasons that we are excited about the new Boeing 787:

-Consumes 30% less fuel than comparably sized current jets

-Less waste is produced during manufacturing and fewer VOCs are released during this process

-ca 30% less NOx emissions than current standards

-20 - 30 dB quieter than current standards for jet engines at airports

Here is a video of the Dreamliner landing about 1:30 PM PST today.
