- Take alternate transportation to work one day a way (bus, bike Carpool, etc.) this could save more gasoline than is imported from the Mideast each day (Source eia.doe.gov)
- Save over $6,000 per year by using public transportation instead of your car, visit www.publictransportation.org to find out how to save this much money where you live.
- Make sure that your car is well maintained to gain extra fuel efficiency(replace filters +10%, use correct tire pressure 3%, use proper grade and amount of oil 1-2%)!
- Don’t use your car as a storage room, the extra weight will make your car less efficient and cost you in fuel
- Ditch your car! If you seldom use your car, get rid of it and try out Flex Car or some other car rental program in your area.
- If you want to keep your car, buy a more fuel efficient model, like a Diesel (and then run biodiesel in it) or a hybrid.
